Welcome

Hi! I’m Tiffany. I’m prone to using a lot of words to make things sound lovely. Because of that I have written and re-written this about a dozen times just trying to be concise. You just want to know what you are getting into, right?

Here’s what you’ll find in my little space: writings/musings/stories on my life. I have a big(ish) family; five kids and my wonderful husband. Topics include: homeschool, travel, adoption, child loss/grief, marriage and living a Christ-centered life.

We strive to live simply and love well. Thanks for joining me on this journey. I’m so glad you’re here.

Favorite Ways to Save on Laundry

First things first, I've been trying to decide whether or not to post an "money saving tips" because I'm far from an expert but I will share what I have found to work for our family. Hope this helps someone. :)

Laundry:

- homemade laundry soap.
Great for sensitive skin, works, isn't hard to make and only costs about $1 every 8 weeks. The drawback is the startup cost which is probably about $15.

- dryer sheets
I buy in bulk from Sam's Club and they last me about 2 years. That's 2 years for $7. I cut them into thirds and they work just fine!

- line dry
I love hanging our clothes out to dry so when I can, I use our clothesline. I also use drying racks inside the house.

- newer washer and dryer
Not that everyone can do this but we found a great deal on a 5 year old  washer and dryer on Craigslist. This definitely made a difference on our power bill.

-power smart pricing
This is just a way to save through the power company. I make sure I do my laundry at the appropriate times so I save money! The neat thing is at the end of the year they will send you a list of your power bills versus what you paid the year before and how much you saved by switching over. Love it! Check it out:
