Welcome

Hi! I’m Tiffany. I’m prone to using a lot of words to make things sound lovely. Because of that I have written and re-written this about a dozen times just trying to be concise. You just want to know what you are getting into, right?

Here’s what you’ll find in my little space: writings/musings/stories on my life. I have a big(ish) family; five kids and my wonderful husband. Topics include: homeschool, travel, adoption, child loss/grief, marriage and living a Christ-centered life.

We strive to live simply and love well. Thanks for joining me on this journey. I’m so glad you’re here.

Groceries Weeks 7,8 & 9

I tried to go back to my old way of shopping, which is going every 6 weeks or so, 35 minutes away and spending the day.

You can read about how that went here: http://tiffany-adventuresofastayathomemom.blogspot.com/2012/09/shopping-with-liam.html

I think I have fully recovered.

Meat (still subtracting from the stock-up purchase!)
4 cans each of tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, kidney beans
4 cucumbers
2 jars of salsa
2 boxes of spaghetti
2 containers of margarine
2 packages of buns
5 loaves of bread
9 cans of veggies
2 packages of tortilla shells
3 blocks of cheese
2 containers of butter
1 cottage cheese
1 package of sausage links
1 large container of plain yogurt
3 blocks of cream cheese
2 cans of cinnamon rolls
2 packages of cheese slices
2 packages of organic spinach
3 bags of chocolate chips
2 bags of pretzels
1 container each of blackberries, raspberries, strawberries
2 rolls of aluminum foil
1 roll of plastic wrap
8 cans of fruit
4 cans of soup
2 boxes of pasta

I spent $117. 26 (including the meat). Meals and sides we've had: grilled cheese, hamburger soup with biscuits,  spinach and lentil wraps, french toast with fruit and fried eggs, pancakes with scrambled eggs, round steak with potatoes and carrots, chicken with stuffing, meatloaf, brats, sweet potato chips cottage cheese and pineapple, salad, leftovers.

Also, for the month of September I've tried out the following budget for other neccessities:

 Groceries $40/week, Sam's Club $10/week, Laundry/Cleaning $10/week, Bathroom Stuff $10/week

Here's is what I have leftover!! :)

Groceries: $2.74 Sam's Club: 0 Laundry/Cleaning: $27 Bathroom: $10

This is very exciting to me! :)
