Welcome

Hi! I’m Tiffany. I’m prone to using a lot of words to make things sound lovely. Because of that I have written and re-written this about a dozen times just trying to be concise. You just want to know what you are getting into, right?

Here’s what you’ll find in my little space: writings/musings/stories on my life. I have a big(ish) family; five kids and my wonderful husband. Topics include: homeschool, travel, adoption, child loss/grief, marriage and living a Christ-centered life.

We strive to live simply and love well. Thanks for joining me on this journey. I’m so glad you’re here.

Tiffany

Spotlight on Illini Christian Ministries: Safe Families

I know it is no surprise to any of you that caring for children and families, adoption and showing God's love is all a big deal to me. Jeff and I have been working with a great agency, Illini Christian Ministries, in our adoption process. Unfortunately, our waiting game has begun and we've hit some bumps (paperwork is taking FOREVER), but that's ok. We know it's all in God's perfect timing. So, while we wait for the official process to begin, we want to introduce you to some of the amazing people that are working at ICM. Thank you all for your ministry! :) Please take a minute to read about 2 awesome ministries they have.

Two-year-old Aalyra had no place to go...

...until one couple did something to change that.

Aalyra's Story

Her mother had just become homeless, was behind on bills, and felt pretty overwhelmed.

Though Aalyra had relatives in the area, no one offered to take her in during her mother's time of need.

But after hearing Aalyra's situation, the Jetts welcomed the confident and spunky little girl into their family home. Together they ate tacos, played basketball, sang songs about God, and prayed for her mom before bed. However, this couple was not alone in caring for Aalyra: the Church stepped in alongside them. One woman offered to watch Aalyra while the Jetts worked, another family donated money for a car seat, and other church members welcomed Aalyra at Sunday services and small groups.

There are so many families like Aalyra's who need people to surround them with hope while they face challenges and crises. Through Safe Families for Children and Illini Christian Ministries, we are able to come together as a body of believers and make a real change in our community.
