Our adoption journey has been filled with a lot of up and downs. I think we've even hit a few pot holes.
Take today for example. At 6:45 this morning I read to Jeff through tears what I thought was amazing news. Yesterday, we were told we could be cautiously optimistic regarding our children coming home. Today we woke up to see that 15 children from the US were coming home!!! Such a blessing! I was overjoyed all morning for these families. As I started sending texts asking for prayer about the situation, I reminded myself to not let my hopes get too high. Stay guarded. Praise God. Stay focused. Be grateful. It's not over yet.
And my sweet husband, who tends to control his emotions a bit more than I, said something like, "It's not over until they are both here, home with us."
Our children are still stuck. It's just a glimmer of hope, but I'll take it.
Please, friends, please pray. The Lord's timing is perfect and right now there is no way any person could orchestrate the perfect homecoming. Please, commit these children, ours and others, to prayer. Pray that they get and stay healthy. Pray that the good news of children coming home continues. Pray that lives are touched through this. Pray for the adoptive parents. The rollercoaster is hard and my prayer is for all of us to grow closer to the One who created our children, the one who loves them more than we do. Please pray for strengthened faith.
The suspension has not been lifted. You can read the new adoption alert here.
We are not one of the handful, but we are thankful for those children that do get to be with their forever families...forever. Forever will make this phase seem like a mere memory.
And the homecoming will be beautiful.
