Welcome

Hi! I’m Tiffany. I’m prone to using a lot of words to make things sound lovely. Because of that I have written and re-written this about a dozen times just trying to be concise. You just want to know what you are getting into, right?

Here’s what you’ll find in my little space: writings/musings/stories on my life. I have a big(ish) family; five kids and my wonderful husband. Topics include: homeschool, travel, adoption, child loss/grief, marriage and living a Christ-centered life.

We strive to live simply and love well. Thanks for joining me on this journey. I’m so glad you’re here.

FIve on Friday - in honor of my brother's 12th birthday-

Five Memories Of Trey

1. First memory is actually before Trey was born. There are 4 sisters in my family, I'm the oldest. Before we found out Trey was in fact, a boy, I bet a friend of mine he would be another girl. Yes, I lost $5 on that bet. Yes, my friend held me to it.

2. The day Trey was born was the day of the Valentine's Dinner for our Youth Group. We all went up to the hospital to see our new chubby baby brother before going to church. There were 12 people in the room. The day Trey came home from the hospital is the first Valentine's Day Jeff and I celebrated together. Judy (Jeff's mom) dropped Jeff off at my house and sneaked in for a quick peek at my brother (who is in fact younger than Jeff's oldest nephew). :)

3. Trey's First Birthday. Talk about spoiled, this boy has 4 older sisters! He is probably the only 1 year old that asked for a napkin with his cake. "Nak Nak!"

4. When I was at school, Trey would go around the house saying "Nini". Of course, this is when he wasn't at school with me. I was pretty much the only high school student at First Baptist that took a baby with me to study hall, basketball games, lunch, and sometimes history class. :)

5. When I was a senior and Trey was 3-ish, I was looking at colleges. I explained a little bit of this to Trey, you know, it was almost time for Nini to move out, etc. One day, Trey was sobbing his little heart out, looking out the sliding glass doors, over in the corner all by himself. I found him, hugged him and asked him what was wrong. He said "Nini, I just don't want to move. I don't want to go to college!"  I told him he didn't have to but he insisted that someday he would have to. True, but we're still not at that someday. Happy Birthday Trey Marshall. I love you!

p.s. If you'd like to share memories of Trey for his birthday on here, please do! Not very many 12 year olds read my blog so the risk of embarrassment from his friends is minimal. :)
