It's hard to know where to start (have I said that before?).
New this week:
We need to file our I-600 (to everyone not in the adoption world, just know this is one of the last sets of really important papers we need to get done in order to go get them!) We have chosen to file this in country, meaning in Congo!!! The purpose of this is to shorten the length of the adoption process. The bonus is we get to meet the kids. :)
Then, yesterday, the DGM (immigration in Congo) issued a suspension on all exit letters. This means that you can process your adoption but you won't be able to bring your child/children home. The official notice says that it may take up to 12 months to resolve this issue. We are sad and frustrated. BUT, this is not the end. We have seen God do amazing things in our adoption for Crusoe and Isa. We know He's not done yet! We are praying them home, along with all the other waiting children.
Today, I cried because as frustrated as we are, as ready as we are to have them home, THEY are the ones waiting. Waiting on 2 meals a day, on dirt floors, in a disease infested country with little medical help. They are waiting to be with a family, their family. They are waiting to be where they belong. They are chosen. They are wanted. They are loved. And we are so ready to wrap our arms around them and bring them home.
But, today is not that day. Even though it feels like we have taken a huge step back, God is still in control. God knew about this storm. He will graciously lead us through it.
Please pray with us.
Pray for Crusoe and Isa to stay healthy and strong.
Pray for them to be comforted in knowing we will come for them.
Pray for the process to go smoothly and quickly.
Pray for us to have peace and patience.
Thank you for your prayer and support!
Here is more information regarding the suspension.
