Welcome

Hi! I’m Tiffany. I’m prone to using a lot of words to make things sound lovely. Because of that I have written and re-written this about a dozen times just trying to be concise. You just want to know what you are getting into, right?

Here’s what you’ll find in my little space: writings/musings/stories on my life. I have a big(ish) family; five kids and my wonderful husband. Topics include: homeschool, travel, adoption, child loss/grief, marriage and living a Christ-centered life.

We strive to live simply and love well. Thanks for joining me on this journey. I’m so glad you’re here.

Tiffany

Notes on Loss, Love and Longing // five

Oh Sweet Thao I remember that night. The night before you died, Daddy and I stayed up all night just to be with you. We knew the end was near. We read to you. Held your chubby hand. Begged God for mercy. Sang worship songs over you. All prayers pleading for an earthside miracle.

We began our goodbye. But in all the ways we don’t understand, you were with Jesus then. He held you as we wept and prayed.

The eve of heaven for you was the beginning of even more suffering for us. But we believed (and still do) God is good.

Even if. Even when. Even now.

“All their life in this world and all their adventures had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on for ever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.”

C.S. Lewis, The Last Battle, The Chronicles of Narnia
