OOPS! I messed up!
We need $8,000 to turn in our dossier (agency fees, translator fees, and international fee part 1)
As of Saturday evening we had that! Yay!! God is good. :)
We will need $11,000 when we accept a referral (whew. That's much better than the $16,000 I originally posted)
What it comes down to:
We need $10,000 more for international fees (soon)
We need (?) for travel expenses (later)
I LOVE the unknowns of adoption, don't you!?
Actually, the unknowns, the inability to plan, is teaching me even more about God and His timing. I'm sitting here freaking out, trying to "plan" out how everything will work, even factoring in the unknowns. I try to "plan" for the worst so I will be pleasantly surprised if it turns out better than I thought. I frantically sell things, pinch pennies and do the math (which, as you can tell, I'm GREAT at--hahaha). And God, well, God has it under control. He knows. He knows me and he tells me to rest in Him. He knows Ava and Liam and he's preparing their little hearts. He knows Jeff, and gives him peace. He knows Thao and my longing for him. He knows my Congolese child. He knows. And he's not freaking out, trying to perfect His plan. He wants to calm my heart and hold me close. He knows me. So, as much as I try to control (and I do TRY), I am learning (again and again....vicious cycle), that I need to trust the Lord.
Thank you for praying with us.
