I wish I had extraordinary news on the adoption front. But, the truth is, we are here, they are there. They are growing up without us and we have NO TIMELINE to get them home. We are thankful for the care they are receiving, but it's not good enough, because it's not a permanent home and family. These little Nardoni's need to be with the rest of us, playing crazy games or eating too much ice cream. Please continue praying for them and the HUNDREDS of others that wait.
And as we wait...we advocate. We advocate for our own, for all the others that are STUCK, for all the children on the streets, in the orphanages, for the ones that don't have a safe temporary home with food and beds. We pray for them. We fight for them. We are the only ones that can give them hope.
And because of this we have joined the efforts of Both ends Burning. They are heading up the campaign for our children STUCK in DRC. They have done it before and they will do it again, they will help us fight to bring these children home.
167 members of Congress signed a letter to our President last week asking him to help resolve these issues. Now you can help by signing and sharing this petition. I used to think these things didn't matter. But I can tell you, every voice counts when it comes to my kids. EACH ONE MATTERS
and I will do everything I can to bring them home. Please join me.
Along with this, our very own Kelly Dempsey (who is AWESOME), from BEB had the chance to testify regarding some of the issues that are dear to my heart, orphan care. She did an amazing job and we are so thankful. (You can watch it here.) But here's the thing, we NEED more. We are so thankful for the Congressman that are supporting and advocating for us and with us but that's not enough. We are essentially failing these kids. Every child deserves a family, so let's work together and resolve some of these issues to make the wait shorter. We all want ethical adoptions to happen, but the answer isn't to stop everything. We have to push forward, dig deeper and work together for these kids.
Children are a blessing, they should be treated as one.
